Physical Therapy

Therapeutic measures

Physical-therapeutic measures are an essential element of physiotherapy. Physical therapy means the methodical application of mechanical, thermal, electrical and actinic energies as well as physiochemical factors for the purposes of prevention, therapy and rehabilitation.

The treatments are mostly adjusted to specific methods and symptoms. Physical therapy is an independent form of treatment cooperating with other therapeutic methods for the treatment of rheumatic diseases. Therefore, specific indications and contraindications obtain.

Electrotherapeutics – ultrasound

Electrotherapeutics is based on the power of electric currents or current pulses and intends to activate and support natural healing processes in the body. The therapy makes use of low-frequency, medium frequency or high frequency current forms, all of which are well-tolerated in every respect.

This can be achieved both directly and indirectly. Indirect ways mean the conversion of electric energy into warmth or mechanical energy. In many cases electrotherapeutics is a reasonable alternative to other therapy forms since it is free from side effects.

Fango

Fango represents a form of heat therapy. We use fango parafin packs in our practice. These packs are kept in a heating furnace at the necessary temperature (approximately 60°C to 63°C).

During the treatment, intensive warmth is applied to one or several parts of the body. It aims at the increase of the metabolism, pain relief, detoning of hypertonic muscles and reflectory reactions to subjacent organs.

Cool Pack

Cryotherapy is a versatile method which is most often applied for simple cooling of injuries in the locomotor system. It aims at the withdrawal of warmth from the tissue to be treated. The effect in general is based on vascular constriction, detoning of the muscles (reduction of interior musculuar tension) and an analgesic effect (pain reducing).
